How to check a company in Estonia (official sources)

Short answer. The official source is the e-Business Register (RIK). Start there, then check what a register does not show.

Where. e-Business Register (RIK): https://ariregister.rik.ee/

What you can see for free. Per RIK, data of legal entities other than your own can be accessed free of charge in the e-Business Register Portal search without logging in (except documents from the file of non-profit associations). Search by name or registry code, or use the detailed search by legal form, address or field of activity.

Steps.

  1. Search by name or registry code in the portal.
  2. Open the entity.
  3. Check status and legal form.
  4. Compare name, registry code and address with what the other party gave you.

What the register does not show. A registry record does not verify business activity, creditworthiness or sanctions status, and it is not a news check.

What a Dutiful report adds. For Estonia: registry profile, legal form, status, capital, registration date and address, with officers on a best-effort basis. Owners and financial figures are not covered. Plus a sanctions screen (OFAC SDN and UK Sanctions List) and a public news and web scan, with sources. Sample: /sample.
