How to check a company in Cyprus (official sources)

Short answer. The official source is the Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property (DRCOR) e-search. Start there, then check what a register does not show.

Where. Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property (DRCOR) e-search: https://www.companies.gov.cy/en/21-eservices/esearch-in-business-entity-s-registry

What you can see for free. Search the register of companies, business names, partnerships and overseas companies by name or registration number; per DRCOR some basic information is free once you select the entity, starting with organisation name, registration date and organisation type.

Steps.

  1. Search by name or registration number.
  2. Select the entity.
  3. Read the free basic information.
  4. Compare name, number and address with what the other party gave you.

What the register does not show. A registry record does not verify business activity, creditworthiness or sanctions status, and it is not a news check.

What a Dutiful report adds. For Cyprus: registry profile, entity type, registration date, name and organisation status, and pending filings. Register values appear in Greek with English glosses. Officers, owners and financial figures are not covered. Plus a sanctions screen (OFAC SDN and UK Sanctions List) and a public news and web scan, with sources. Sample: /sample.
